SOUTHPORT, Conn. — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Southport brokerage is collecting food items for Fairfield’s Operation Hope Food Pantry from now through Dec. 31, 2015.

Operation Hope, which was founded in 1986, provides food and shelter to Fairfield and Southport residents.

Operation Hope also provides supportive and affordable housing, a community kitchen and a food pantry. The pantry is completely stocked and run by volunteers, and provides over 200 families per month with food and distributes more than 123,000 meals per year.

“The holidays are all about giving and bringing joy to people’s lives,” said Brad Kimmelman, manager of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Southport Brokerage. “Operation Hope does just this, and with your generosity and support of our efforts, we can all help to make a difference in our beloved community this holiday season.”

The firm’s Southport brokerage will be accepting the following items: baked beans, red beans, canned tomatoes, cake mixes, Jell-O, pudding, powdered milk, fresh and canned fruit, fruit juices, frozen prepared meats, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, macaroni and cheese, tuna, spaghetti sauce, canned spaghetti, canned meats and stews, peanut butter and jelly, pancake mix and syrup, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and flour, salad dressings, cereals, instant hot cereals and power drinks.

Accepted toiletries include: toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, razors and shaving cream, hand soap, Afro-American hair dressing, feminine products (tampons and sanitary napkins), Depends undergarments for men (size large), and diapers (size 4-5).

All donations should be dropped off at the company’s office at 250 Pequot Ave. in Southport Village. Drop off hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends.
