WESTON, Conn. Although the Weston school district called for early dismissals due to an impending snowstorm, it looks like its going to be all rain. When asked how he felt about the rainstorm, Westonite Dan Marcus said, Its still winter, you never know what is going to happen.
Marcus said he was skeptical this morning after hearing that the schools would close early Wednesday. My kids had an early dismissal scheduled for today anyway, so I dont really know what the point was.
He said his two young children, who both attend Hurlbutt Elementary School , were hoping to see some snow today. But, were taking it all in stride, he said.
Another Westonite, Kim OGrady, questioned why the districts decision, I think the school system was overcautious with the early dismissal but I think people are hypersensitive because of all the snow last year.
But, its better to be safe than sorry, she said.
As of mid-afternoon Wednesday, the roads in town were fine and the police had no reports of any weather-related accidents. According to the National Weather Service , Weston could see rainfall amounts between a quarter and half inch Wednesday afternoon. For Wednesday night, expect rain and sleet until after midnight when it turns to all rain.
