WESTPORT, Conn. – Aspire Fitness in Westport hit the floor last Saturday to raise a total of $5,275 for veterans during the Pushups For Charity event.
The 90-second pushup challenge is an annual fundraiser that takes place throughout the country and in Canada to raise awareness and funds for military veterans and their families.
“We are very excited to give back to those who serve our country every day,” said Tommy Baker, owner and head coach at Aspire. “The idea is a community driven fitness event where everyone is having fun, pushing hard and raising money and awareness for our military personnel.”
Proceeds raised during this year’s Pushups For Charity events will benefit the Boot Campaign, a nonprofit that provides a variety of assistance to veterans and their families, including housing, jobs, counseling, urgent care and family services.
