WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport is holding its annual Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Service on Monday, May 30.

The Memorial Day Services will be held on Veterans Green immediately after the Memorial Day Parade. The parade begins at 9 a.m. and ends at Parker-Harding Plaza. 

The Memorial Day Services Program is as follows:

  • Master of Ceremonies: William Vornkahl, President, Westport Veterans Council
  • Invocation: Reverend Paul Teske – USN Retired, St. Paul Lutheran Church
  • Pledge of Allegiance: Boy Scout Troop 39, National Anthem Christian Melhuish, Soloist, Staples High School
  • Welcoming Address: Honorable James S. Marpe, First Selectman
  • America The Beautiful: Julia Kempner, Soloist, Staples High School
  • Introduction of Grand Marshal William Vornkahl
  • Placing of Memorial Wreath Commander, VFW Post 399, President, Ladies Auxillary VFW Post 399, Commander, American Legion Post 63
  • Firing Detail: Westport Police Department
  • Taps: Staples Band Buglers – Samatha Atlas, John Corde
  • God Bless America: Jimmy Ray Stagg, Soloist, Staples High School
  • Benediction: Reverend Paul Teske – USN Retired, St. Paul Lutheran Church
  • Musical Selection Staples High School Band, (Armed Forces Salute) Nicholas Mariconda, Director

In the event the parade is canceled due to extreme weather conditions, the service will be in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, starting at 10 a.m.
