Westporters Enjoy Outdoors Before Rain

With heavy rain expected to drench Westport from Thursday night into Friday, Westport resident Kipp Marcus hit the PAL ice rink at Longshore late Thursday afternoon with sons Quinn and Keaton. As Kipp and his sons enjoyed the ice, gray clouds loomed above.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain after 9 p.m. Thursday. Rain will continue into Friday and is expected to be heavy at times. A Flood Watch has been issued for the area for Friday morning through Saturday morning. Rainfall amount of 1 to 1.5 inches is predicted.

Areas of fog are expected before noon, and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon. A High Wind Watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through Friday night. Wind gusts as high as 55 mph are expected.
