WESTPORT, Conn. – There’s a new president of the Westport Young Woman’s League as Catharine Lloyd will lead the nonprofit for the next year, taking over the reins from Kristin LaFleur.
“I am so excited and honored to take the helm of the Westport Young Woman’s League,” Lloyd said in a statement. “The membership is a dynamic and fun group of women. With them, I look forward to continuing the [league’s] long history of helping families in need throughout our local area.”
In addition to naming its new president, the league also selected members of its executive board for the 2012-13 year. The new board consists of Ritu Johorey, Lynne Openshaw, Meg Himes, Brandi Briggs, Michelle Lieberson, Deborah Bayazit, Jennifer Blum, Josephine Raimondi, Natalie Fonteyne, LaFleur, Candace Banks, Donna Adelglass, Caroline Russell-Waiting, Dot Baliban, Valerie Smith and Lucy Ambrosino.
Started in 1955, the Westport Young Woman’s League is a nonprofit philanthropic organization that supports more than 20 charities throughout the county. In addition to raising money to support these charities, league members participate in a variety of volunteer opportunities in the community.
The league is accepting applications for new members. Membership is open to all women, 21 years of age and older who live in Westport.
