Westport Weston Y Offers Fun-Filled Weekend

WESTPORT, Conn. – Have no plans for the weekend? No problem: The Westport Weston Family Y is hosting a series of events Friday through Sunday for kids and adults.

On Friday, the Y is hosting Parents Night Out. From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., parents can drop off their children at the Y and enjoy a worry-free night on the town while their kids have fun of their own. Children must be between the ages of 5 to 13.

Kids should eat dinner before they are dropped off and should bring a bathing suit and towel for a free swim. Parents Night Out cost $25 for Y members and $35 for nonmembers. A snack is included.

On Saturday, drop off your kids for Youth Fun Night. From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the Y will be open just for kids in grades 4 through 7. Students can play foosball, ping pong, air hockey or try their luck at the "Pop-a-shot" basketball station in the lower gym.

Kids can also swim, shoot some hoops and make their own ice cream sundaes. This event is open to members and nonmembers. It costs $12 if prepurchased or $15 at the door.

On Sunday, the Y is hosting its annual Fall Family Fiesta at the Mahackeno Outdoor Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Now in its sixth year, the event will feature a variety of activities, from rock wall climbing to pumpkin decorating. Open to members and nonmembers, this event is free for all.

"The Family Y plays a unique role in the community, bringing local families and their children together in an inclusive, active way," Family Y CEO Rob Reeves said in a statement. "We appreciate your coverage of these community events."
