Westport’s Conservative Synagogue Helps To Fight Hunger

WESTPORT, Conn. – Members of the Conservative Synagogue of Westport, Weston and Wilton recently helped to provide food to needy residents throughout the area as part of the synagogue’s annual “Mitzvah Day.”

On April 7, congregants of all ages volunteered their time in communities such as Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport, serving meals at homeless shelters or sorting items at food banks. Others helped by donating food or raising money, the synagogue announced.

The term “Mitzvah” is commonly used to refer to worthy deeds or acts of kindness.
