WESTPORT, Conn. — Four new members have been elected to the Westport Library Board of Trustees for 2016-17, including town resident Robert Haroun.
Haroun has many years of experience as a real estate developer in residential and commercial construction. Since 1992, he has been the owner of SIR Development LLP in Westport, overseeing the construction of more than 150 single-family luxury homes and three large office retail buildings in Fairfield County.
He was a founding partner of Sofer and Haroun LLP in New York, a patent attorney for Cohen, Pontani, Lieberman & Pavane LLP in New York and a patent attorney for Baker Botts LLP in New York.
He has or is presently serving on boards for the Westport/Weston YMCA, Barons South Senior Housing Committee, United Jewish Appeal, the Conservative Synagogue and Ocean House Condo Association.
Haroun has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute and a law degree from New York Law School.
