Westport Police Host Post-Halloween Celebration

WESTPORT, Conn. – If you and your child missed out on trick-or-treating Monday night after town officials urged residents to stay indoors, break out the costumes and goody bags this Saturday and head over to the Westport Police Department for a "Halloween in November" celebration.

From 4 to 6 p.m. at the police complex, located at 50 Jesup Road, members of the police department, fire department, Emergency Medical Services and Westport Police Athletic League will be handing out candy to costumed visitors as they make their way around the building.

In addition to sweet treats, prizes will be given out to visitors with the best costumes.

"The town's emergency service members hope that this will help to make up for the disappointment Westport's children, and their parents, felt by staying home on Halloween night, as well as help out all those households who hosted the many children who did come out on Halloween," Capt. Sam Arciola said in a statement.
