STAMFORD, Conn. Westport resident and longtime behind-the-scenes funnyman Lester Colodny will be taking his comedy talents to Stamford for Curtain Calls production of Neil Simons The Sunshine Boys on Friday.
The Westporters resume includes creating the television show The Munsters and winning an Emmy Award for his work on a Jack Benny television special. He has worked Jerry Lewis, the Beatles, and Joan Rivers, among other entertainers.
"When I started planning for this season, there was no question that Lester was the perfect person to direct The Sunshine Boys,'" Lou Ursone , Curtain Call executive director and producer of the production, said in a press release. "His background and passion for making people laugh are a perfect match for a Neil Simon comedy.
The production is a tribute to vaudeville acts, the release said. The cast is made up of local actors led by Fred Tisch,of Stamford, and Daniel Fitzgerald, of New Canaan, the release said.
The show will run from Oct. 21 through Nov. 5 with shows every evening at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. Tickets are $28 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $14 for students/children, except for Thrifty Thursdays when tickets are $18 and can be purchased by phone, 203-461-6358 or online .
