To The Editor:
I am writing in support of Karen Kleine - a strong woman, a good friend, a pillar in our community and a powerful advocate for our children -- as the best candidate for Board of Education. Karen's dedication to our schools is evident in her active, longstanding leadership roles-first serving as PTA president at Kings Highway Elementary School and then in the same position at Coleytown Middle School.
In my years working with her on the PTA, she has consistently worked to ensure our children receive the best from our education system. Additionally, as the chair for our Temple's Youth Committee as well as her work at the Westport Public Library, she has consistently given back to our community and stands as an example of what's good in Westport: a foundation of parents actively involved in their children's lives.
Finally, as a mom, she understands the challenges our kids face: she's raised three great kids, 2 of whom are Staples graduates, and one who enters the high school next year. Karen has been a good friend, but more, she's been someone that's made our town a better place to live and I trust she will continue to ensure that our schools remain among the best in the state. Vote for Karen Kleine for the Board of Ed.
