Join the fun on the Jesup Green with bouncy castles, a rock climbing tower, activities for kids, food trucks, a Maker Space, and much, much more.

The day starts with a 5K Fun Run sponsored and organized by Staples Interact Club — the high school Rotary club — and created by Hannah Malowitz.

The event will start at the Imperial Avenue Parking Lot at 9 a.m., the initial finishers should arrive at Jesup Green at about 9:30.

At 10:30 a.m., the Sunrise Rotary will be awarding over $30,000 to 28 nonprofits, including CLASP Homes, Builders Beyond Borders, Homes with Hope, in Westport, Caroline House, Burroughs Community Center and Literacy Volunteers of Greater Bridgeport.

Bigger and better this year — buy a ball, dunk a leader — First Selectman Jim Marpe, Second Selectman Avi Kaner, Third Selectman Helen Garten, Board of Education member Mark Mathias and Planning & Zoning Commission Chair Chip Stevens, along with policemen, firemen — and many more. Toss a ball, hit the target, watch the leader drop into the water tank.

Take break, watch the day’s feature, the Great Duck Race. Make a $20 donation to Sunrise Rotary, buy a numbered raffle ticket, have a duck in the race. At 1:30 p.m. the little yellow numbered plastic ducks get dropped into the Saugatuck River to bob downstream with the tide. Cheer your duck home!

The first one in wins $5,000 for his ticket holder, the second wins his ticket owner $1,000, and the next eight pay out $5,000 each.

The Great Duck Race is sponsored by CastleKeep Investment Advisors; Melissa & Doug; Fairfield County Bank; Westport Downtown Merchants Association; Berchem, Moses & Devlin, P.C.; The Black Duck; Eric Zielinski & Co.; Gault Energy; Green Village Initiative; Honda of Westport; The Russell Agency; Subaru; and Westport Resources.
