WESTPORT, Conn. Residents who may find themselves in the back of a Westport Emergency Medical Service ambulance can rest easier knowing the service has the latest technology.
It purchased an advanced diagnostic EKG monitor/defibrillator used funds from a donation it received from Birchwood Country Club in Westport. The funds were raised by club members this past Labor Day weekend , said Marc Hartog, EMS coordinator.
The monitor has been put into service, replacing an older model that was nearing the end of its expected lifespan, Hartog said. Birchwood Country Club representatives stopped by EMS headquarters Thursday to inspect the new piece of equipment.
