WESTPORT, Conn. Thirty-nine acres in Westport were officially dedicated to longtime resident Paul Newman in a ceremony Wednesday attended by the late actor's daughter, Westporter Lissy Newman.
First Selectman Gordon Joseloff also attended the ceremony, which took place at the Newman Poses Nature Preserve off Bayberry Lane.
The preserve is now part of the Aspetuck Land Trust. A large portion of it was donated to the town by Newman, who lived near the property. The tract also includes land sold to the town by former resident Lillian Poses, a friend and neighbor of Newman.
The preserve opened to the public on May 1. For more information about the preserve, visit the Aspetuck Land Trust website .
