WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport composer and musician Suzanne Tanner will perform in a one-woman multimedia musical that she created to help translate tragedy into hope after meeting a Holocaust survivor.

The Jewish Ledger's Connecticut edition wrote a story about her musical, which she will perform at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York on Sunday, April 27, to commemorate Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day).

In the show, Tanner tells the story of Holocaust survivor Rachel Goldman Miller, whom she met in 1992. "The show weaves personal testimony, original dramatic song, documentary footage, and contemporary art, creating a colorful and inspiring account of one woman’s triumph of spirit over the loss of her family to the Holocaust and her son to AIDS," the Ledger said.

Through song, Tanner portrays Miller from age 5 to age 75, as well as other family members.

“Beyond Me: A Song Cycle in the Key of Survival," will be performed by Tanner on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. at the Safra Hall at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, Battery Park, N.Y. Tickets are $36 and are available at . For more information, call 203-557-4561 or visit facebook/ .
