Boy Scouts from Troop 100 in Westport are on a mission to fight hunger. The scouts recently collected enough food to fill an entire SUV from top to bottom, Scout Master Jennifer Jackson said in an email.
The food, collected as part of the Boy Scouts of America national Scouting for Food campaign, was distributed locally to Homes With Hope, a Westport nonprofit that battles homelessness through supportive housing. This food will help stock the Food Pantry operated by the nonprofit.
"Summer is one of the most challenging times for food banks across the country," Jackson said in the email. "Many families are busy with summer camps and summer vacations and forget to donate."
Anyone interested in donating food to Troop 100's Scouting for Food drive may contact Jennifer Jackson at firstname.lastname@example.org .
