WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport Animal Shelter Advocates will hold an Apple Cider Stand on Saturday, offering up tasty beverages and a chance to meet some furry friends.

WASA is hosting the Apple Cider Stand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 44 Main St. in Westport. Residents are invited to "stop by for a free glass of apple cider (and for those of you not ready for fall, we will have lemonade as well), meet some friendly WASA fosters and learn about some wonderful dogs at Westport Animal Control," according to a press release. Animal Control is located on Elaine Road in Westport.

"There will be yummy treats for all two-legged and four-legged visitors," according to the release. "And, for NY Yankee and/or memorabilia collectors, we will have a Mariano Rivera signed baseball and Mariano Rivera bobblehead open for bid.

"Come on down and help WASA in its mission to help impounded dogs at Westport Animal Control, a no-kill shelter, and homeless dogs in Fairfield County."
