Justin Piscitell of Weston is donating the proceeds of his upcoming race to STAR Inc., Lighting the Way in honor of his younger brother who has a developmental disability.
"STAR did a lot for my little brother from the very beginning, and this is my way of giving back. It just puts a twinkle in my eye to see him," said Justin, 22. "STAR really helped him with his speech and they came to the house to help him learn to walk. They've done so much from when he was born, and growing up. Now he's a super happy person."
Justin has been a race car driver for four years. He will be racing at 10 a.m. May 28 at the Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville.
Justin trained at Skip Barber High Performance Driving School and studied motorsports technology at SUNY-Alfred State College. From there, he qualified for his first series and won his first championship in 2008, and then won another title that earned him his first professional year of sponsorship from Mazda in the Playboy MX-5 Cup. Since then, he's been touring with Murillo Racing.
Admission is $25 for the day's races at Lime Rock Park. For information about the race or to donate to support individuals with developmental disabilities, contact STAR at 203-846-9581. To learn more about Justin Piscitell Racing, visit www.justinpiscitellracing.com .
