WESTON, Conn. – Weston residents can enjoy fine wines while helping out three good causes next weekend. The Weston Kiwanis Club will hold a wine-tasting and silent auction on Saturday, March 16, to benefit three Weston community organizations.
"At this community event, you will have the opportunity to enjoy socializing with your neighbors and friends while also supporting some very worthwhile local nonprofits,” Kiwanis Club President Don Gary said in a statement.
Money raised from the event will go to the Weston Warm-Up Fund , Weston Social Services and the Kiwanis Club’s own charitable foundation. Attendees may choose which organization will receive the funds collected from their tickets.
The event will feature wines from Peter’s Spirit Shop and hors d'oeuvres provided by Bon Soiree of Westport. Peter’s will also donate a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne that will be raffled at the event. A silent auction will be held for items such as tickets to an opening night performance at the Westport Country Playhouse and a trip to see Jose Feliciano’s 2013 World Tour.
The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Norfield Church parish hall. Tickets are $75 each. For information on buying tickets, contact Pam Kersey at firstname.lastname@example.org or 203-454-8809, or visit the Weston Kiwanis Club website .
