Give a dog snow, and it will teach itself a good time. This altered proverb may have been on the mind of Weston resident Betsy Peyreigne on Wednesday morning when she looked out her window and realized the prospect of leaving her house was dismal.
So she ditched her snow shovel and pitched a snowball with her two children and three Siberian huskies. Her dogs "have never been as happy as they are today," she said in an email. "If only they could hold a snow shovel!"
More than 14 inches of snow fell on Weston from Tuesday night through Wednesday, making Weston's total snow accumulation for January more than 30 inches. "If I get off my property tomorrow, it will be a miracle," Peyreigne said. "I love this!"
