Six Weston-based bands will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday for the Battle of the Bands at Toquet Hall in Westport.
One of the bands, Punch it, Margaret, has been together for nearly three years and has played in front of audiences as small as four to as large at 126, said Vincent Simboli, a Weston student member of the Teen Governing Board at Toquet Hall. "I'm the singer. I drop all my energy on stage and come out sweaty," said Simboli. The other members are Jack Kelly on guitar, Joe Burns on bass, Chris Parisi on drums and Jake Strauss on trombone.
The five other bands competing will be: Knights of the Coffee Shop, made up of Jacob Aviner on guitar and vocals, Harrison Lipton on keyboard and vocals, Max Kupperberg on drums and Ellen Kempner on bass; Premonition, with Zack Weinstein on drums, Jack Kerns on guitar, Ben Juneau on bass, Brennan McDunough on guitar and Alex Krigsman on vocals; Borrowed Glory with Ryan Bigelow on guitar, Eli Chodock on drums and Cameron Swanson on bass; Interstellar Elevators with Billy Rodriguez-Lopez on MC/vocals/guitar/turntables, Stefan Rehr on drums and percussion, Campbell McClintock on saxophone, guitar and keyboard, James Low on drums, Jake Strauss on bass, Xander Landen on percussion and keyboard, and Andrew Denicola on saxophone and keyboard; Chillingsworth with Zach Mallet on guitar and vocals, Josh Mallet on drums, Malcolm McClintock on keyboard and Steve Friedman on bass and vocals.
The tickets are $5. The two finalists will compete against Westport's finalists on May 6 at Toquet Hall. Toquet Hall is on the second floor of 58 Post Road E., Westport.
