WESTPORT, Conn. – In less than a month, thousands of residents will gather at Compo Beach for the annual Westport Police Athletic League Independence Day Fireworks Celebration.
This year’s event is scheduled for July 3, PAL President and Police Capt. Sam Arciola announced Tuesday. Tickets for the fireworks are $35 per car and are currently on sale at the police department, 50 Jesup Road, or the Parks and Recreation office, 260 Compo Road S.
Tickets are limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis, Arciola said. Once tickets sell out, shuttle bus passes to and from Longshore Club Park will be available for purchase.
This year’s celebration will once again be sponsored by Melissa & Doug LLC, a Wilton-based toy company founded by Westport residents Doug and Melissa Bernstein.
“The Westport PAL would like to thank Melissa and Doug Bernstein for their continued support of the Westport Police Athletic League and this year’s sponsorship with the fireworks,” Arciola said in a statement.
In the event of rain, the fireworks will be held on July 5.
