Westport Uncorked will feature tastings of 60 wines from around the world, an Autumn Farm Table buffet and live auction. Proceeds help the Sunrise Rotary support its more than 25 nonprofits — in Westport, the surrounding area and around the globe.
The wines have been selected by Cory D’Addario, the wine specialist at Liquor Locker in the Compo Shopping Center. She is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and the expert you need to help you choose just the right wines for that special occasion.
D’Addario will offer a variety of wines, from the well known to those that should be, from the pricey to those for the price conscious, and from bubbles to light and austere to masculine and monstrous.
Accompanying the wines will be an Early Autumn Farm Table filled with crudités, butlered hors d’oeuvres, paella and petit sirloin bars, and desserts of miniature apple and pumpkin pies, all prepared and presented by Festivities Catering of Norwalk.
Festivities is a craft caterer whose founders, executive chef William Kaliff and event consultant Rosinne Chlala, frequently win awards for their presentations.
The auction will be managed by Travis Worrell, whose Westport Auction presents monthly estate auctions featuring “the very best in Fine and Decorative Arts.” Among items to be auctioned will be four Yankees VIP field level tickets; a three-month family membership to Westport-Weston Family Y; and the Taco Loco truck for you and 50 guests to make that party truly memorable.
Among the event’s sponsors are Castlekeep Investment Advisors, Fairfield County Bank, The Connecticut Group and Eric Zielinski & Co.
