Each year, St. Vincent's staff members volunteer for the re-enactment, with the participants kept secret until the ceremony.

Also known as the Epiphany, Three Kings Day or Dia de los Reyes, it is a Christian celebration that commemorates the Biblical story of the Three Kings who followed the star of Bethlehem to bring gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the Christ child.

A religious holiday widely recognized in the Hispanic community in the United States, it is celebrated 12 days after Christmas on Jan. 6.

St. Vincent's Medical Center, founded by the Daughters of Charity in 1903, is a mission-driven organization committed to health care for all with special consideration for the poor and underserved.

St. Vincent's Medical Center is a subsidiary of St. Vincent's Health Services and a member of Ascension Health, the nation's largest Catholic and largest nonprofit health care system.

St. Vincent's has been ranked for the second consecutive year as a Best Hospital in Fairfield County and in all of Western Connecticut for 2013-15 by U.S. News & World Report in its annual "Best Hospitals" survey.
