Spring Temps Melt Westport's Winter Blues

Can it be? Yes, it appears that most of the snow around Westport has or is melting, thanks to unseasonably warm weather recently. Even the snow mountain at Compo Beach, one of the town's snow storage areas, has significantly decreased in size.

On Thursday, Westport enjoyed a high of about 54 degrees, drawing humans and dogs alike to the beach. A high of 56 degrees is expected Friday.

Although it is only mid-February, it seems as if the worst of winter may be behind us — finally — and spring may be on the way.
