Lisa Cummings, holistic health and nutrition coach, wants answers to the following questions: Have your eating habits started to slip? Are your clothes feeling tight? Do you avoid looking into full-length mirrors? If you've answered, "yes" to any of the above, then it's time for your eating habits to be redesigned.
For more than 10 years Lisa was a creative art director in a major advertising agency in New York City, but too many years in a high-octane professional lifestyle began to take their toll on her health. "While my outside image seemed stable and glamorous, my inner picture of health was less than perfect," she said. "My relationship with food and my health took a hit from my demanding lifestyle." She was, she said, in need of her own redesign.
When doctors were unable to help heal her nutritional issues, Lisa oversaw her own roadmap to a healthful future. After spending years researching and reading every conceivable book on the subject of health and nutrition, she trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (accredited by SUNY Purchase College and Cornell University) and became a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). She then went on to receive her raw foods certification.
Lisa has developed a health transformation system, a step-by-step program she calls, "Live Well By Design," which shows clients "how to redesign their eating and lifestyle habits -- at work, home and on the go," she says. A recent Westport transplant, Lisa and her husband's move to Connecticut was salubrious. "Westport has healing attributes -- from the beach to the woods -- and it's just beautiful here."
She meets with clients in her crisp, white kitchen or in the garden or near the pool. And in the relaxed atmosphere of her home, she details her programs, which allow clients to "get the results they want without giving up the flavor and tastes they're used to." She also offers one-day "VIP Wellness Makeovers," in which she demonstrates how to "apply nutrition principles to fit within clients' lifestyles, including, tips for grocery shopping and how to make healthy, quick, dinners."
Her secret to nutritional success is simple: "It's all about learning to celebrate without sabotaging your wellness." And Lisa Cummings, with her bright smile and contagious enthusiasm, is just the person with whom to celebrate.
