“After initial review of the [report], the DOT has identified two possible options to remediate the bridge: major rehabilitation and structure replacement,” said Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe.
Marpe cited one key passage from the study: “The lifecycle costs for both options are essentially the same and, as such, it is recommended that further in-depth studies of various bridge replacement alternatives be completed before any determinations can be made whether to rehabilitate the bridge or to replace it.”
A public information meeting about the matter has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, at 7 p.m. in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave.
“I encourage interested parties to review the report online and to attend the information session on June 15,” said Marpe.
