WESTPORT, Conn. Treat the special man in your life to the romantic-comedy "Sabrina Fair" this Father's Day weekend at the Westport Community Theatre. Directed by Tom Rushen, this Cinderella-esque play marks the end of the theatre's 2010-11 season.
Set in the 1950s, "Sabrina Fair" tells the story of Sabrina Fairchild, the daughter of a longtime chauffeur to the wealthy Larrabee family who lives on an estate on the North Shore of Long Island.
After a trip to Paris, Sabrina is transformed from the oft-ignored daughter of hired help to a beautiful, sophisticated young woman with an infectious zest for life. Her taste in men has also changed. She was once attracted to David Larrabee but now finds herself strangely attracted to his older brother, Linus.
"Sabrina Fair" opened on Broadway in 1953. A year later, the movie "Sabrina," starring Audrey Hepburn, William Holden and Humphrey Bogart, was released. The movie was remade in 1995 with Harrison Ford, Julia Ormond and Greg Kinnear.
The Westport Community Theatre cast includes Michelle Blau, Jessica Denes, Andrea Garmun, Debra Hanusick, Terry LaPolice, Manny Lieberman, Andrew Morris, Sue O'Hara, Jeff Pliskin, Brendan Quinn, Tara Reuter, Catherine Samose, Nik Shpilberg and Fred Tisch.
