For 40 years, The United Methodist Church at 49 Weston Road has held a spring rummage sale and this year's has bargains in many categories: furniture, air conditioners, sports equipment, children's and baby gear, games, housewares and more. Chairperson Barbara Railton-Jones says the sale usually raises about $10,000 which the church donates to charity. "We emphasize charities that care for women and children," says volunteer Gerry Roth. Besides the high volume of gently used treasures, there is also a bake sale and hotdogs and hamburgers cooked on the grill. Sale hours are: Friday, May 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 8, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
