REDDING, Conn. -- Paint, Draw & More! will be offering summer art camps for children, which will be held at the Georgetown School of the Arts at 25 Old Mill Road.
Full-day camps will be held the weeks of July 6 through 10; July 13 through 17; and July 20 through 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages five through eight and nine through 13.
Camps July 6 through 10 and July 13 through 17 are $304 for each full week, with all materials included. Camp July 20 through 24 is $299 for the full week, with all materials included. Parents provide lunch, snack and smock for all camps.
Paint, Draw & More! offers camps that allow children to express their creativity, while being taught technical skills and build self-esteem through their artistic accomplishments. They teach young artists how to build an image vocabulary and develop problem-solving skills through the medium of art.
Each day comprises of a full day of creating fine art, some of which may include drawing, painting, mask making, sculpture, bookmaking, cartooning, collage, printmaking, and group projects. Storytelling, music making and movement will also be added as time allows. Activities will take place in and out of doors depending on the weather.
Students will explore a variety of mediums and be encouraged to break artistic boundaries and express their creativity in new and exciting ways. A compilation of the week’s activities may end up in an art show or small performance for the parents.
The classes are open to a maximum of 10 students per age group (five to eight, nine to 13), per session, and students may sign up for continuous weeks and not repeat camp activities. The teaching staff comprises of skilled area artists trained by Paint, Draw & More!
