The Summer Astronomy family program is $4 for farm members, $6 for nonmembers, $16 maximum per member family, and $24 maximum per non-member family.

The New Pond Farm observatory is perched on top of the knoll in a pasture, and Redding has some of the darkest skies in Fairfield County. A team of amateur astronomers offer the monthly programs to view the night sky.

The farm has several telescopes and, thanks to grants from Redding Education Foundation and the Meserve Memorial Fund, it also now has a 14-inch Celestron telescope.

New Pond Farm is a working farm that also has a learning center where families can learn about the environment, the arts, American Indian history and astronomy.
