REDDING AND WESTON, Conn. – Redding and Weston will celebrate Memorial Day early with a parade and a festival Saturday and throughout the weekend.
Redding’s annual Memorial Day parade takes place Saturday starting at noon, with a ceremony at Redding Elementary School. The parade will step off from there at 12:15 p.m. and travel down toward Route 107, ending at the Memorial Green.
After the parade, there will be another ceremony honoring those who served in World War I, featuring Redding’s Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Weston will also celebrate Memorial Day all weekend with its annual Memorial Day Fair at Hurlbutt Elementary School. On Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. and Monday from noon to 4 p.m., the school’s ground will have rides, games, food, music and more.
