After this weekend, your kids just might eat all their veggies on their platesthat is, if you talk to Cindy Sherlock. Sherlock, a nutritionist and chair of the Weston Women's League Farmers' Market, will be at the market Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon to give advice on healthy eating for parents and their children.
"Talking to children about healthy eating is wonderful, but the best enforcer of life-long healthy eating habits is to set a good example. There is no easier place to do this than the Farmers' Market where the fresh fruits competition is not a fruit roll-up or Star Wars gummies," Sherlock said.
Fruits and vegetables are not the only thing at the market. Homemade pies, oven-baked pizza, jewelry and handmade soaps are some of the other attractions.
The Farmers' Market is located at the grounds of the Weston Historical Society at 104 Weston Road. It continues every Saturday until early October.
