Children's Bank is a program of the Human Services Council's Children's Connection, and provides holiday gifts to 3,000 children in need in lower Fairfield County each season. Many children in area communities won't get a gift this holiday season. Support is needed because there are more children than Children's Connection can reach.
Some suggestions include:
• Organize a gift drive at your company or community group
• Fulfill a wish for a specific child
• Donate general gifts for children in need
• Contribute financial donations
For more information on how to get involved call or email Kari Pesavento at kpesavento@hscct.org or 203-849-1111. To make a financial contribution, checks should be made payable to: Human Services Council, with Children's Bank in the memo, to 1 Park St., Norwalk, CT 06851.
If you would like to drop off gifts, you may do so at any Norwalk Fire Department station or at River Park Plaza, 800 Connecticut Ave. in Norwalk through Dec. 12. After Dec. 12, gifts may be dropped at at 1 Park St. in Norwalk.
Children’s Bank accepts any new, unwrapped gift for a child newborn to age 18. For gift suggestions or to receive the most requested wish list, call or email Children's Connection.
For over 20 years, Children's Bank has provided holiday gifts for children who are most in need. The Department of Children & Families and other agencies provide individual holiday wishes collected from the children they serve. These children have been abused and neglected, many of whom live in foster care or group homes and are struggling with frightening and unclear futures.
