The church is inviting community members to "buy a spot" in its parking lot and sell their wares — from clothing to kayaks and more.

“Last year’s Tailgate Tag Sale gave our neighbors a unique reason to come together and celebrate our community in a new way,” said Peggy Hodgkins, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. “This year’s Tag Sale builds on that success and gives everyone a give their used items a new life.”

The sale is held in the church’s spacious parking lot at Pequot Avenue and Center Street on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Last year, over 80 families sold such items as costume jewelry, women’s and men’s designer clothing, handbags, scarves and accessories, china, silver, housewares, antiques, children’s party clothes, kayaks, mountain bikes and more.

Sellers keep the cash from their sales. Trinity benefits from the proceeds of the parking spot purchases.

Trinity’s Outreach program help the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Center for Family Justice, Council for Churches of Greater Bridgeport, Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS), Parish Court, St. Luke’s/St. Paul’s Food Pantry, and more.

To buy a spot, click here. The price is $100, or $150 for a premium location. All are also invited to attend the Friday Night Bites & Boutique party June 9, where they will get “first dibs” on the sale’s Boutique Treasures. Tickets for the Preview Party are $40 per person or $75 per couple.

In the event of rain, the tag sale will take place Sunday, June 11, from noon to 5 p.m.
