Jodi Sacchetta has taken the role of stay-at-home mom to a new level. The Weston mother of three wanted to raise her children, but her yen for intellectual stimulation also needed fulfillment.
So she started Autumn Hill Associates , which provides administrative services for companies and nonprofits. "What's nice about it is that I can put as much time or as little into it that I have to," she said. "It's really whatever people need, whatever services that they might typically outsource like setting events or other private administrative work. ... It's fun for me."
As part of her work, Sacchetta serves as an executive for the Fairfield-Westchester chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals . She also runs the membership division of that chapter, and her husband, Pasquale, serves as president.
She also spends many hours volunteering for the Hurlbutt Elementary School PTO. "My husband would say that I'm a professional volunteer," she joked. She also helps with the Weston High School swim and dive team, which won the Class S state title last week. Her daughter, Ali, is a senior and helped her team beat East Catholic by seven points.
During the spring, her two sons play baseball, so she spends many hours at the field. This past summer, she took her family to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., where Fairfield American Little League participated. "It was great for the boys," she said. "We got to see some international teams and watch Fairfield play."
Sacchetta moved to Weston 10 years ago because of the "school division's excellent reputation." She said that she has adjusted, despite some of the challenges of rural living. "I'm really happy with where we live; I see no reason to leave," she said.
