WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Schneerson Center for Jewish Life is set to put up several large menorahs in Westport, Weston and Wilton.
Hanukkah runs from Wednesday, Nov. 27 through Dec. 4 and local residents are invited to the lighting ceremonies on Dec. 1 and 2.
"The small bright flames will light up the cold winter night as men, women and children will gather to watch the spectacular menorah lightings," representatives said in a press release. "Lively music will fill the air as people will be encouraged to dance together in unison. Dreidels and doughnuts will be given out to the crowd. The menorah is a symbol of hope and Jewish pride."
The Weston Menorah Celebration is set for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. The celebration will include the menorah Lighting and display at the Weston Shopping Center, 190 Weston Road in Weston. The ceremony will be led by Rabbi Levi Stone of the Schneerson Center. For more information, residents can call 203-635-4118.
The Wilton Menorah Celebration is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. The celebration includes the lighting of a giant outdoor menorah at the Wilton Town Green in Wilton. Rabbi Levi Stone of the Schneerson Center will lead the free ceremony. For more information, call 203-635-4118.
The Westport Menorah celebration starts at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Residents are invited to come witness the lighting of the Westport Menorah at Compo Acres Shopping Center 400 Post Road E. in Westport. For more information,call 203-635-4118.
