Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Greenwich Arts Council and Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Westport Woman's Club. Both shows are expected to run from 7:30-9 p.m.
The company, creators of the area's lunchtime theater series Play With Your Food, looks at this production as a way for busy people to be exposed to their work.
“People who have not been able to attend our lunchtime series because of work schedules can now come after work, while our lunchtime patrons can enjoy an evening out,” says JIB managing director Inge Maki. “It’s a perfect way to get into the spirit and kick off the holidays.”
Capote’s largely autobiographical "Memory" remains a holiday favorite nearly 60 years after its publication. Set in the 1930s, the story recalls the last Christmas shared between the 7-year-old narrator, Buddy, and his slightly dotty but loving much-older cousin, Sook.
Local actors and a director will bring Russell Vandenbroucke’s stage adaptation to life. Directed by Mark Graham of Trumbull, the cast includes Sean Hannon of Weston, Betty Jinnette of Norwalk, Richard Leonard of Cos Cob, Katie Sparer of Stratford, and Kristin Graham of Trumbull.
Tickets for both shows are $30 each, which includes an eggnog and dessert party after the show with the cast. The Greenwich Arts Council is at 299 Greenwich Ave. Greenwich, and the Westport Woman’s Club is at 44 Imperial Ave., Westport.
