Love Is in the Air This Weekend in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – Wondering what to do this weekend? Here's a look at some of the many events happening in Westport over the next three days:

Friday, Feb. 10

? 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Dads, treat your daughters to a night of dancing at the Westport Weston Family Y during the second-annual Father-Daughter Dance. The dance isn’t strictly for dads, though: Grandfathers, uncles and other good friends are invited, too. Cost is $10 for Y members and $15 for nonmembers. The dance will be held in the Bedford Room at the Y, 59 Post Road E. Register online. For more information, call Tasha Dennison at 203-226-8981, Ext. 113, or visit www.westporty.org.

? 8 p.m.: “A Thousand Clowns,” the hit Broadway comedy by Herb Gardner, opens at the Westport Community Theatre. Tired of writing cheap comedy gags for the children's television star "Chuckles the Chipmunk," nonconformist Murray Burns finds himself unemployed. But complications ensue and Murray must decide whether to accept some level of conformity or risk losing his 12-year-old nephew, Nick. The show runs through Feb. 26: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m., and Thursday, Feb. 16, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 to $20. For reservations and information, call 203-226-1983 or go to westportcommunitytheatre.com . The theatre is located at Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.
