Lifeguards at Compo Beach this morning were ready to go on duty, waiting for the post-Memorial Day Parade crowds. Assistant Waterfront Director Brandon Ogiba said he didn't think there'd be much swimming though, this Memorial Day. "After all, the water temperature is only 58," he said. Six lifeguards and two additional people manning the office are poised, ready to oversee everyone's safety and handle whatever comes up. They'll be watching over beachgoers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The National Weather service forecast calls for a high of 72 degrees, a perfect day at the beach.
