To the Editor,
I believe a few days ago, you published a communication from Martin Yellin, my predecessor as chairman of the Conservation Commission. Dr. Yellin was expressing his appreciation for the performance of Jennifer Tooker as a member of our commission. I concur 100 percent with Dr. Yellin's sentiments.
I have worked with Ms. Tooker for a number of years as a commissioner, and now that I have become chairman, she is serving as vice-chair. Her clear thinking and general attitude of cooperation have been invaluable in the smooth functioning of our group. The only downside is that after being elected to the Board of Education, apparently she may have to resign from the Conservation Commission. However, the commission's loss will be the education board's gain.
W. Fergus Porter, chairman, Westport Conservation Commission
