WESTPORT, Conn. The following letter was submitted by Westport resident and Selectman Charles Haberstroh, a former member of the Board of Finance.
To the Editor:
Tom Lasersohn was appointed to replace me as Board of Finance member in January 2011. As I am sure that Board of Finance observers are well aware, Tom is an extremely bright, thoughtful and articulate individual who has been willing to do the comprehensive analysis needed in that position.
Tom is a strong supporter of our excellent school system, efficiency in town and school operations, and in combining like town and school services where possible.
He serves on the Board of Finance's Audit Subcommittee, where the valuable insight he has gained though many years as a financial professional as a partner at Goldman Sachs & Co. and as an private investor have been especially helpful. Tom has dual advanced degrees from Columbia University a J.D. in Law and an M.B.A. after graduating with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Brown University.
Tom has proven to be a real asset to the Board of Finance since his appointment, and I urge you to vote for him as well as John Pincavage and Mike Rea for the Board of Finance on Nov. 8.
