Tonight's the big night: Kicking Daisies will play their benefit show for the Fairfield Arts Center's teen music center Friday night. If you got tickets before they sold out, here's what you need to know:
Directions to the Fairfield Theatre Company : If coming from outside Fairfield, I-95 if the best bet. Take Exit 19 and turn left at the end of the ramp. Follow the road under the train tracks, and take a sharp left onto Carter Henry Drive. Follow until you see the theater on the right.
If you're in Fairfield, the Post Road is the easiest route. Turn onto Sanford Street, which is directly across the road from the Sherman Green. The theater is at the end of the street, on the right.
Parking : The FTC has a small free lot for concertgoers, and the train station lot across Sanford is free to the public. If those are full, the Sherman Green lot on Reef Road (across the Post Road) is also open to the public, and there is street parking nearby on Sanford, the Post Road, Reef Road, the Old Post Road, Unquowa Road and Miller Street.
Show Times: Doors open at 7 p.m. The first opening act, That's The Problem, is scheduled to go on at 7:30 p.m. After that, Take Zero takes the stage before the Daisies begin their show.
For Parents : If your kids have tickets but you're not planning on going to the show, the Flipside Restaurant has a special prix-fixe menu for the evening. Flipside is located in the Brick Walk at 1125 Post Road.
If you're looking to stay occupied while the kids are at the concert, you can get in the holiday spirit at the town's Tree Lighting ceremony, which runs from 6:15 to 9 p.m. on the Town Hall Green. Also, the Community Theater is just around the corner from the FTC, and has screenings of "Waiting For Superman" and "The Town," both starting at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
Simulcast: If you don't have tickets, but still want to check out the show, head over to Las Vetas coffee shop on Unquowa Road. They will have a special simulcast of the concert, streaming live on its big-screen TV.
