WESTPORT, Conn. Jordan "Jordie" Kaplan of Westport died June 6 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 86.
Born Dec. 7, 1925, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of Joseph and Syd Kaplan. He attended Colby College and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Kaplan was married to Dorothy Kaplan. He worked in the liquor business for 30 years but more importantly, he loved to volunteer. He volunteered with the Veterans Association, Head Start, STAR, the Open Door Homeless Shelter and he coached Little League.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Matthew and Russell Kaplan; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk. Burial will follow at Independent Hebrew Society Temple Shalom Cemetery in Norwalk.
