Holiday Greetings Enter Crunch Time

Margot Vacheron and Joanne DiNapoli at Paper Dolls of Westport are skilled hands at helping people convey their holiday wishes. But even as they craft the perfect cards and invitations for their clients, they can't gift them with more time.

"Ask us if we've had time to order our own cards," teased DiNapoli while adjusting the alignment on an invitation design on her computer screen. The answer of course was "no."

According to business owner Vacheron, the deadline for some vendors to guarantee delivery has already past. For items she and DiNapoli design and print fully in-house, Dec. 18 is the cutoff.

Paper Dolls, formerly Wilton Stationers, has been up and running in Westport for less than a year. Moving one town over and changing names hasn't hurt business. Vacheron could answer questions only briefly between clients, while thumbing through large books of samples and making suggestions in the small office that serves as showroom and storefront. DiNapoli could afford more time to be loquacious while working on the computer.

Ordering custom cards from Paper Dolls involves meeting with Vacheron or one of her employees and going over your needs. They can walk clients through not just picking tasteful designs, but also the etiquette involved with formal situations. On Mondays, they see clients only by appointment. Noting the nonstop pace of the past few weeks, DiNapoli smiled, "We love appointments."

Even with their deadline approaching, Vacheron and DiNapoli said they would be happy to work with anyone that comes through their door. For more information about Paper Dolls and their services, visit them at 335 Post Road West or call 203-762-0781.
