Hit The Brakes: Expect Road Closures For Fairfield/Westport Road Race

WESTPORT, Conn. — Motorists should expect temporary road closures and delays as the Pequot Runners of Fairfield hold their 40th annual Thanksgiving Day 5-mile road race on Thursday, Nov. 23.

The race kicks off at 8:15 a.m. in Southport and travels along Pequot and Beachside avenues before turning north on Sasco Creek Road.

From there, the runners travel east on Greens Farms Road, northwest on Clapboard Hill Road, south on Maple Avenue South, west on Greens Farms Road, south on New Creek Road and then east on Beachside Avenue until the race again enters Southport on Pequot Avenue.

The racers should exit all Westport roads by approximately 10 to 10:30 a.m.

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes whenever possible.
