WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport residents can meet furry friends and help support the Westport Animal Shelter Advocates , a nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates and finds homes for homeless pets.

The group, known as WASA, is hosting a Sit.Stay.Love benefit at Anthropologie, 1365 Post Road E., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents can support Wesport Animal Control, a no-kill shelter, meet WASA fosters and become a WASA volunteer at the event, according to a press release. Advocates will also have treats on-hand for both four-legged and two-legged visitors.

"In addition to meeting and learning about wonderful dogs looking for their forever homes, representatives from Strays and Others, a 501(c)3 rescue group in New Canaan, will be on site with kittens in need of homes," representatives said in the press release, adding that there will be no on-site adoptions.

Because the Sit.Stay.Love event coincides with Anthropologie's Pet Supply Drive, residents are asked to bring donations. The drive begins Friday and ends Sunday.
