Scott Macalister Bryce, who grew up in Westport, turns 56 on Monday. The film and television actor was born Jan. 6, 1958, in  New York City.

He appeared at the Palace Theater on Broadway in "Caesar & Cleopatra" starring Rex Harrison in February 1977.

He opened a three-camera television studio in an old vaudeville theater in Connecticut. He has also made numerous guest starring appearances in prime time, including roles on "Murphy Brown," on which he played the recurring role of Faith Ford's husband, Will Forrest, "ER," "Law & Order," "Reba" and "Sex and the City." In addition, he appeared as Dr. Crosby in a handful of episodes of ABC's "One Life to Live" in March 2006. He is best known for the role of Craig Montgomery on "As the World Turns."  He began in 1982 and was initially paired with Meg Ryan's character and continued in the role until 1987, and then made several short term-returns over the years until 1994. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1986 and  1987 and also for Soap Opera Digest Award in 1986 and 1988.
