It isn't every day that you see witches, princesses, Army men, ninjas, fairies, candy corns and "Star Wars" characters walking along Main Street in Westport. But on Wednesday afternoon, the street was crawling with these and other silly, cute and spooky characters for the Halloween Parade.
Despite the dreary weather, hundreds of kids, including 8-year old Charlie and his sister, 4-year-old Annabelle, braved the rain and donned their costumes to go trick-or-treating, four days early. But rather than going from house to house, kids hopped from store to store for treats.
The trick-or-treating didn't stop there. After kids got their fill of candy from Main Street merchants, they headed to Town Hall, where they enjoyed three floors of trick-or-treating and a live DJ in the auditorium.
The Parks and Recreation Department, Downtown Merchants Association and the Westport Police Athletic League organized the annual parade.
